Owner/Dog Trainer
Meghan started her career with animals working as a receptionist at an animal hospital and emergency center through out high school. She then went to Iowa State University for two years where she found her love for dog training. During the summer of 2005 Meghan was given the opportunity of an internship at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah. The internship gave her a chance to continue her work with animals; plus introduced her to the world of dog training. She is now a Certified Dog Trainer, graduated with honors from Animal Behavior College in 2007, and has been working at Downers Grove Animal Hospital since 2006. Since graduating Animal Behavior College she now owns and teaches dog training for 4 Paws Obedience Training.
Meghan has been a full member of the
Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) since 2007. The APDT is a professional organization dedicated to helping dog trainers become better with education. Meghan is also an official evaluator for the
American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program. The CGC program stresses responsible pet ownership and good manners for dogs. Meghan believes in the importance of continuing education to provide the latest information for you and your dog. She regularly attends conferences and seminars to learn more about training and behavior.
During her spare time Meghan loves to spend time with her dog, Kylie. During the summer Meghan and Kylie, a German Shepherd mix, love to walk different forest preserves and spend time in the back yard. In the Winter it is hard for them to resist playing in the snow. Meghan also loves to scrapbook with photos, watch movies, and spend time with friends and family. She especially loves to spend time with her husband, Steve and her son, Jack.
